		This year's was Mrs IRENE BARCLAY, the first woman in the UK to become a 		RICS Chartered 
		Surveyor, making her the first woman to receive this worldwide 
		recognition since the GSD was held in 2018.
		
		Mrs. Barclay (1894-1989) was 
		licensed to practice surveying in 1922. For 48 years she headed the 
		Secretariat of the and developed her work in the field of and 
		emphasizing the importance of the profession in the social sphere.

		Deqing Geospatial Information Town celebrating the Global

		Related organizations of Deqing Geospatial Information Town 
		celebrate the 2025 Global Surveyors’ Day focusing on the theme 
		“Surveying the World, Shaping the Future” from 17 March to 22 March 2025 
		in Deqing, China. The activities include organizing primary and 
		secondary school students to visit Deqing Geographic Information Science 
		and Technology Museum, study at Deqing Youth Academy of Geospatial 
		Information Sciences and participating in hiking with their surveyors’

		Deqing Geospatial Information Town, Huzhou city, Zhejiang province, 
		China is located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, about 1 
		hour from Shanghai and 13 minutes from Hangzhou (the capital city of 
		Zhejiang province, China) by high-speed rail. The total planned area of 
		the town is 4.69 square kilometers, with a distinctive feature of 
		integrated development of geospatial information industry. At present, 
		more than 430 enterprises have gathered around, making it an industry 
		park with the most concentration of geospatial information related 
		enterprises in China. On 20 May 2022, the United Nations Global 
		Geospatial Knowledge and Innovation Centre (UN-GGKIC) was officially 
		launched, as the first specialized technical centre initiated by the 
		United Nations Secretariat operated in China. In January 2025, the World 
		Geospatial Information Home (WGIH) was established in the Town, so as to 
		attract geospatial information-related associations and societies from 
		all over the world to set up their representative offices in Deqing 
		Geospatial Information Town for  promoting pragmatic cooperation in the 
		field of geospatial information industry.

		(MAGPC)
		In celebration of this year's Global Surveyors Day, MAGPC 
		successfully organized its traditional casual discussion meeting and 
		darts & billiards tournament. This year, the meeting and discussion were 
		notable for the wide participation of university students. During the 
		meeting, young surveyors made a presentation on mapping the lake bottom 
		and modern SLAM technology. Pictures from the celebration of the Global
